A pair of GoFundMe campaigns are underway to help the two Meaford families who experienced house fires last week.
The home of Marg and Gary Lawrence, on Nelson Street West, became engulfed in flames on the evening of July 21st.
The couple was able to get out of their home safely.
While fire crews were trying to extinguish the blaze, windy conditions blew the flames toward the house next door, igniting the home that belonged to Helen and Bryan Gelyk.
They were also able to get out safely, but their home also severely damaged.
The Lawrence’s granddaughter, Natasha Love, set up a GoFundMe to help support her grandparents.
Meanwhile, the Gelyk’s son, Kyle Takman, set up a separate campaign to support his parents.
No injuries were reported in the fire, but both families now have to work to rebuild and recover from the loss of their respective homes, and a lifetime of memories.
