The second annual Bruce County Comicon is returning to Southampton next week.
Owner and Founder of the comicon Julia Barac says she is excited to bring the event back to the Southampton Coliseum on July 12.
“We are pretty much doubling the size of the venue, doubling the amount of vendors, adding more attractions,” says Barac.
Last year’s inaugural event kept the comicon to the arena portion of the coliseum, but this year, Barac says they are expanding to also include the annex.
“We have got vendors, we have got free play arcade, there is a Pokemon zone as well. Outside, we have some of our featured attractions like the Optimus Prime replica truck, we have got a Bumble Bee style Camero, we have got a bunch of free activities for kids like face painting,” says Barac.
She adds there will also be food trucks and 200 vendors.
“Nonstop, I have heard so much excitement and anticipation because of the response last year, vendors have been looking forward to coming back for pretty much the entire year leading up to this year. A lot of vendors did extremely well and they just enjoyed the crowd and talking to people and meeting new faces because a lot of them are coming from Toronto area,” says Barac.
She adds they are considering ways they could continue to expand the event.
Tickets to the event can be purchased at the door or online at the event’s Facebook page here.
