A 44 year old Owen Sound man has been sentenced to 4 years in prison less his time served in custody in connection with a drug and weapons bust in the city.
Mark Thompson was sentenced earlier this month in connection with his arrest in late October.
At the time, Owen Sound Police found more than $2,500 worth of meth and marijuana and a loaded sawed off shotgun in Thompson’s possession.
He had complained of a medical condition and an ambulance was called, taking him to hospital.
Police later obtained a search warrant for the suspect’s home in the 1200 block of 2nd Avenue “A” West.
Officers seized more weapons — another sawed-off shotgun, a semi-automatic 9 mm handgun, ammunition for the firearms, a cross-bow and two prohibited knives.
Police also found $1,000 of marijuana, some oxycodone, and stolen property.
With the time served in custody, Thompson faces roughly 3 years behind bars now.
