Ontario is leading the country in Covid-19 testing and is investing another $1.07 billion to test for, trace and isolate the virus.
The news comes as Ontario hit a new daily testing record with over 42,000 tests completed Monday.
Premier Doug Ford says there have been over 4 million Covid-19 tests accomplished so far in Ontario.
But Ford says we still need to be careful this Thanksgiving and not have too many people at gatherings.
“I would really, really discourage people from having 25 people, even if it’s outdoors,” said Ford. “Stick within 10 people. And folks – we went through so much together – we can get through this. This is going to make or break it this Thanksgiving. We see the numbers slowly flattening – they still are high – but I’ve seen a decline yesterday.”
The Province also suggests keeping Thanksgiving activities to your own household.
At the start of the outbreak, Ontario was accomplishing 4,000 tests per day. The province says it could be achieving 68,000 daily tests by mid-November.
