A pontoon boat operator is facing several charges, after being stopped by the Southern Georgian Bay OPP Marine Unit.
On Saturday afternoon, police say they went to check on a pontoon boat that appeared to be having difficulty near the shoreline of Snake Island.
Officers spoke to the operator and said he failed a breathalyzer test.
A search of the vessel also resulted in a quantity of liquor being seized.
As a result of this investigation, Lukasz STANISLAWSKI 36 years of Toronto has been charged with the following offences.
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
- Operating boat underway with open container of liquor contrary to the Liquor Licence Act
- Operating pleasure craft without copy of licence on board contrary to the Canada Shipping Act
- Failure to have proof of competency on board a pleasure craft contrary to the Canada Shipping Act
- Fish without having licence on your person contrary to the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act
The accused was served a 90 day drivers licence suspension and seven day vehicle impound as per the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) program and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on December 10, 2020.
