Owen Sound Police have arrested and charged an alleged fentanyl trafficker.
City Police say a 40-year-old Owen Sound man was arrested Monday evening on 8th Street East in the downtown core.
Police say the arrest came following an investigation conducted by the Owen Sound Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit.
Owen Sound Police say the accused was found in possession of powder fentanyl. Investigators allege the accused possessed it for the purpose of trafficking.
Police say the street value of the seized fentanyl is about $6,000.
The accused also had outstanding arrest warrants for assault and failure to comply with a probation order.
City Police have not identified the 40-year-old accused.
They say he made a court appearance Tuesday morning and was remanded into custody.
