The Orillia OPP has been cleared by the SIU in connection with an injury suffered by a 30-year-old man earlier this year.
The SIU says on May 21st, a suspect in a domestic disturbance on Oxford Street ran away from officers, fell and landed on his back on the raised concrete curb of a sidewalk.
Then, police say he got up and started running again, before eventually being taken into custody and complaining of shoulder pain.
He was taken to OSMH, where he was diagnosed with a fractured scapula (shoulder blade).
As a result of the investigation and bodycam footage of the incident, the SIU determined the man was responsible for his own injury.
