It’s Orange Shirt Day
The annual event is recognized on September 30, as a way to bring communities together to honour the experiences of former students and survivors of the residential school system, while raising awareness of their tragic legacy.
The goal is to build awareness and encourage residents to pause, reflect and listen to the stories of survivors and remember those whose lives were lost to residential schools.
