Public Health officials have reported nearly 500 new coronavirus cases in its latest update.
A total of 491 cases reported were reported on Sunday, which is the highest single-day increase since May 2. That’s when there were 511.
Two new deaths have also been reported.
Health Minister Christine Elliot says 42,500 tests were completed, with137 new cases in Toronto with 131 in Peel, 58 in Ottawa and 58 in York Region.
She says 63% of the new cases are in people under the age of 40.
