The Simcoe County District School Board has confirmed an individual has tested positive for covid-19 at Bear Creek Secondary school in Barrie.
As a result, the board says the entire cohort is in self-isolation until October 4.
Meanwhile, all classes, except for one, will return to class today at St John Vianney Catholic School in Barrie today, after a positive case of COVID-19 was discovered there.
The Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Boards says it’s an individual at St. John Vianney Catholic School in Barrie, but no word yet on if the case involves a student or staff member.
People in the affected class have been asked by the Catholic board to stay home and quarantine for 14 days, and the classroom has been closed.
However, the rest of the school will reopen for classes today.
A teacher at Twin Lakes Secondary School in Orillia was the first case of COVID-19 discovered in an area school last week.
