There has been a second case of COVID-19 confirmed at a school in Simcoe County.
The Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Boards says it’s an individual at St. John Vianney Catholic School in Barrie, but no word yet on if the case involves a student or staff member.
People in the affected class have been asked by the Catholic board to stay home and quarantine for 14 days, and the classroom has been closed.
However, the rest of the school will reopen for classes on Monday.
A teacher at Twin Lakes Secondary School in Orillia was the first case of COVID-19 discovered in an area school last week.
The province has launched a website for parents to check the status of positive virus cases in schools and childcare centres. For more details, please click here.
