Following a cabinet retreat, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is updating Canadians on its Safe Restart Agreement.
The agreement with provinces and territories offers 19 billion dollars in funding.
Trudeau says he has now received letters from premiers on how they will spend the funds on their region’s needs.
The Prime Minister also once again touted his government’s Throne Speech which will be delivered next Wednesday (Sept 23).
Justin Trudeau says he understands Canadians are anxious to hear what’s in the document.
The Prime Minister again says the Throne Speech will offer plans to keep Canadians safe.
Trudeau adds it will also address jobs and includes a significant green plan.
He also addressed a question about how the opposition may react to the items in the Throne Speech and whether it could trigger an election.
The Prime Minister says his government is strong and an election wouldn’t be irresponsible, adding that Elections Canada would deal with what’s needed.
