Canada has announced it will not be imposing reciprocal counter measures now that the US has backed off of tariffs on Canadian aluminum imports.
Minister of Small Business, Export Promotion and International Trade, Mary Ng, said at a news conference today that Canada is not conceding to anything. She says Canada fully retains the right to impose counter measures if the United States decides to re-impose the tariffs.
The United States announced earlier this afternoon that the 10 percent tariff it imposed in August was being lifted.
