Giordano Wins Messier Award
Former Owen Sound Attack defender Mark Giordano was named as the NHL’s Mark Messier Leadership Award.
The Messier award is presented to the player who exemplifies great leadership qualities on and off the ice and who plays a leading role in his community growing the game of hockey.
Among his activities, Giordano partnered with the Calgary Board of Education in 2014 to launch Team Giordano to promote improved physical fitness and academics, as well as leadership development, at 5 high-needs schools.
Giordano played 2 seasons for the Attack in the Ontario Hockey League scoring 32 times with Owen Sound.
