
Two people have died and another is in serious condition after a car collided with a tree in The Blue Mountains Thursday night.
Provincial Police say the single vehicle incident took place at about 11 p.m. on Grey Road 19 near Craigmore Crescent, where an Audi sedan left the road and struck a tree.
OPP say three people were in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Two male passengers, both 29-years-old, from Oshawa and Whitchurch-Stouffville have been pronounced dead.
Police say the driver of the vehicle — a 24-year-old male from Whitchurch-Stouffville — was transported to a Collingwood area hospital and later airlifted to a Toronto hospital in serious condition.
There’s no immediate word from OPP about what is believed to have caused the crash.
According to police, Grey Road 19 between Settlers Way and Heritage Drive remains closed for the ongoing investigation by the OPP Technical Collision Investigations Unit.
