Schools will be ready if classes have to go online.
That from Premier Doug Ford on Tuesday who says a can-do attitude will go a long way should a Covid-19 outbreak occur at any schools in the Province this fall.
Minister of Health Christine Elliott says lots has been put into guidance plans for any potentialities when school starts.
“So we are ready for it,” said Elliott. “We can’t reduce the risk to zero – that’s not possible. But we’ve done everything possible working with the Ministry of Education to make sure that we have a safe, welcoming environment for students to come back into.”
Elliott adds that a team of health experts will step in if there are any outbreaks.
She says they have already stress-tested outbreak management policies to ensure they are ready to go.
Ontario is reporting 112 cases of #COVID19, a 0.3% increase as the province processed over 23,500 tests. Locally, 27 of Ontario’s 34 public health units are reporting five or fewer cases, with 18 of them reporting no new cases.
