The Collingwood shelter for abused women and children needs some help.
My Friend’s House has released a statement saying it is thankful for community support during the pandemic and has raised over 20 thousand dollars during the quarantine time to support its services.
But the shelter says because of the cancellation of fundraising events and increased costs due to COVID-19, an shortfall of a hundred thousand dollars by year end is anticipated.
The shelter asks you to consider joining its monthly giving campaign and become a Champion of Courage.
My Friend’s House is also hosting a Positive Influence virtual speaker’s series.
There is one in September with a playwright, one in October with performer and rock and roll historian, Memphis Jones, and the third event is in November with an international humanitarian.
Tickets are on sale now.
