Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health wants to make sure parents who are sending their children back to school for in-class learning are prepared.
They have posted some information and suggestions on their website to help guide parents and guardians through the process of getting kids ready.
They say to practice new routines with your child before school starts – hand-washing, using alcohol-based hand rub, and cough/sneeze etiquette.
They also suggest getting your child comfortable wearing a mask by starting with just a few minutes then increasing the time each day because they will have to wear it all day.
Alcohol-based hand rub will be available at school but consider packing a small container in your child’s lunch bag to use before and after eating and although surfaces will be disinfected regularly, they suggest packing a tea towel for your child to eat their lunch on and change it daily.
They also say to limit the personal belongings your child will bring to school with them.
