They have the equipment, now they’re acting fast to get it in the hands of those who need it most.
That was the message today as Premier Doug Ford and Health Minister Christine Elliott addressed Ontarians about Covid-19.
Elliott says the Province is now ensuring same-day deliveries of equipment like masks to hospitals, long term care facilities and retirement homes.
Over the last five days, more than 13 million surgical and procedural masks, 200,000 N95 respirator masks, and 38 ventilators were delivered to Ontario’s pandemic stockpile warehouses.
Ford says 6.5 million of those masks were delivered to hospitals just this past weekend.
The number of donated supplies is so far in the millions, says Elliott, who adds that the Province was able to procure much of it with help from the Federal government to get better prices.
