Premier Doug Ford says it’s all hands on deck to get students back to school safely this September.
The Province will use the just-announced $381 million in Federal funding for its safe return to classes.
Today Ontario also released management plans for schools that inform health units and parents on what will happen if outbreaks occur.
“These guidance documents were developed in consultation with the Chief Medical Officer of Health and other health experts,” said Ford. “Our top medical advisors have reviewed, provided input and put their stamp of approval on all the guidelines.”
On of the new guidances means students who are feeling unwell won’t need to get tested for the virus unless direct contact with another confirmed case has been established.

Dr. Dirk Huyer, the Province’s Chief Coroner, will help spearhead Ontario’s school, childcare, agriculture, health and long term care plans.
Ford says Ontario has the safest, most cautious plans in Canada.
Today’s investment by the Federal government complements our plan and investments of nearly $900M:
✅$200M Reopening Plan Implementation
✅$70M Transportation
✅$12.5M Special Education & Mental Health
✅$12.5M Nurses
✅$36M Remote Learning
