The Barrie Police Service is investigating after reports of a suspicious incident that occurred at Johnson’s Beach on August 22.
Police say an individual has been identified, and it has been confirmed that there is no risk to public safety.
A Facebook post, which has been shared many times, alleged the man had been approaching children at the beach.
While the Barrie Police Service understands the concern of the public when investigations of this nature are underway, it says the public is reminded that making threats and harassing others is unacceptable, and could be considered a criminal action.
