OPP have laid charges after a fake GoFundMe account was created and a number of people lost some money.
Huronia West OPP reports that in March 2017 an account was set up family and friends to help a Springwater Township woman with the financial burden of her cancer treatments.
Police say that since then, just under 65 hundred dollars was collected from 74 victims.
After a long investigation, police determined the suspect did not have a critical illness in 2017.
The suspect, a 36 year old woman, is now charged with fraud and making a forged document.
