A Provincial pledge to build modern classrooms and more childcare spaces saw results today with a $16 million announcement for a new catholic elementary school in Etobicoke.
The new school will accommodate 600 students at Royal York Road and Eglinton Avenue.
Premier Doug Ford says over $500 million is being invested this year overall.
This money will help build and expand schools, complete major renovations, and create more child care spaces across the province.
“The project will also create 88 new affordable childcare spaces to help parents in the area,” said Ford. “As part of our government’s commitment to add 30,000 childcare spaces over 5 years, 10,000 of them in new schools just like this one.”
Ontario Education Minister Stephen Lecce says it’s about giving students the best starting ground possible.
