In light of an announcement that all Upper Grand District School Board students in all grades would have to wear a mask at the start of school, parents can now change their mind about sending them.
Upper Grand School Board trustees made the move to require masks in schools and on buses for all students, but the decision came after the pre-registration deadline.
The move caused some parents to rethink signing them up for school, so the board says they are giving the opportunity for them to change their original pre-registration decision regarding in-person or remote learning.
To change your original decision parents can visit https://forms.gle/3SQ7osJQL51mtYky6 and fill it out before this Sunday, August 23rd at 4 pm.
In the last several days a number of important updates have been made to the UGDSB’s reopening plan, and overviews of the reopening models for elementary and secondary schools are on the board website at www.ugdsb.ca/fall2020models, and it includes the structure of the school day for both in school and at-home learners, sample schedules and expectations.
The overviews also contain important information regarding the board’s strategies for reducing class sizes, and enhancing ventilation.
The plan is to have a staggered entry plan for the first week or maybe even the second week of schools for everyone to get used to the new protocols.
