OPP have laid charges after stopping two suspected speeders in one area.
On Tuesday afternoon (3:48 p.m.), an officer conducting stationary traffic patrol in the village of Waverley, in Tay Township, reports being passed by a Ford Focus and a Mazda Five, following each other and going more than 50 kilometres an hour over the posted 60 zone on Highway 93.
The officer stopped the vehicles in the village of Orr Lake with the help of another OPP cruiser.
The officers spoke with the drivers and arrested both of them.
A 27 year old Tiny Township man, who was driving the Ford, is charged with driving while impaired by alcohol, racing, speeding, having a license plate not authorized for that vehicle, and not having insurance.
The driver of the Mazda, a 39 year old Barrie man, faces a number of speed and suspended driving offences. He was released into the custody of another police service for further investigation on a number of outstanding investigations.
