The Owen Sound Minor Hockey Group has been informed that there will be no return to normal Rep hockey until there’s a vaccine for COVID-19.
Therefore, tryouts, travel teams, tournaments & year end championships will not occur until stage 4 of the provincial re-opening plan.
It’s important to stress that these guidelines and stipulations are not from Owen Sound Minor Hockey Group, nor from the Ice Hawks Girls organization for that matter, but rather come from the Ontario Hockey Federation and the OWHA, in the case of the girls programs.
Checking the Ice Hawks web page, their latest release relates they need coaches for Under 7 and Under 9
If, and it’s still a fairly large ” IF “, the Ice Hawks are eventually able to participate in games, they will need coaches for Tier 2 teams in 3 divisions; Under 15, Under 13, and Under 11.
Meanwhile, Owen Sound Minor Hockey Group has the numbers to offer Tier 1 and Tier 2 – Non contact 3 on 3, or in some cases 4 on 4 hockey
Registration for the Owen Sound Minor Hockey Group will open September 1st and run to September 10th for all divisions with a projected start in late September or early October.
