A Sauble Beach man faces drug and weapon related charges after being arrested in Owen Sound.
Owen Sound Police say officers arrested the 32-year-old man Tuesday afternoon at an eastside apartment building.
Police say he was found breaching multiple bail conditions by attending the residence of a domestic violence victim and not complying with his house arrest.
City Police say the man was confronted by officers in the hallway of the apartment and attempted to resist his arrest. Police also allege the accused attempted to distance himself from a knapsack he had been carrying.
Police say they later searched the knapsack and located highly toxic purple Fentanyl and an imitation glock firearm that “bore a striking resemblance to police issued firearms.”
The accused is being detained in police custody pending a bail hearing scheduled for Wednesday morning.
Owen Sound Police have not named the accused as charges have yet to be sworn before the courts.
The 32-year-old Sauble Beach man is charged with possession of Fentanyl, carrying a concealed weapon, assault with intent to resist arrest and numerous counts of failure to comply with a recognizance of bail.
