If you own property in Huron County, you could receive up to $5 thousand to help fund clean water initiatives you are undertaking.
The County of Huron has allocated $400 thousand for the “Huron County Clean Water Project,” which is delivered by the Ausable Bayfield and Maitland Valley Conservation Authorities.
Grants are available for erosion control projects (grassed waterways, catch basins, terraces and berms), rural stormwater management, clean water diversion, livestock fencing, and upgrades to septic systems.
Limited funding assistance covering up to 50 per cent of the costs of eligible projects is awarded to county farmers, rural landowners, businesses, and community organizations.
