South Bruce OPP have arrested a 25 year old and a 16 year old and charged them with Conspiracy to Commit Murder.
Police say on Sunday at about 10:30 p.m. officers received a report of a suspicious person on Jackson Street in Walkerton.
They say they responded and were told this person was soliciting assistance to plan a homicide. Police did not release any other details about the incident.
OPP say as a result of their investigation, they have chargedĀ 25 year old Ian Cooke of Brant Township.
He was held in custody pending the result of a bail hearing scheduled for August 6, 2020.
A 16-year-old resident of Southgate Township was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Murder. Police say the accused cannot be identified under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. They are currently in custody pending the result of an upcoming bail hearing.
Meanwhile, the South Bruce OPP Crime Unit is continuing to investigate under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch. Police say this was an isolated incident. There is no threat to public safety.
