Owen Sound Police have arrested a man for robbery, uttering threats and failing to comply with probation.
Police say at about 10 Saturday morning (July 25), a man went into the downtown Tim Hortons, approached a cashier and demanded cash. Police say he indicated to the staff member that he had a gun and made a gesture indicating the weapon was concealed in his back pack.
Staff contacted police who responded quickly and arrested the man on-scene without incident. They say they did not find a weapon.
The 36 year old Owen Sound man of no fixed address was held for a bail hearing.
Police credit the Tim Hortons staff members for keeping their composure during the very stressful incident which they say allowed officers to make a quick and non-violent arrest.
