The locally founded volunteer team that searches for missing cold case victims is holding a fundraiser.
Please Bring Me Home Co-Founder Nick Oldrieve says his not-for-profit organization is looking to raise some money to allow them to conduct some of their searches planned for this summer and to do some missing person flyer campaigns.
Oldrieve says, “There's a number of our cases that are moving in a forward direction really quickly and we want to make sure we're taking the opportunity at the right time to work on those cases.”
Until Friday at 8 p.m. (July 24th) on the Please Bring Me Home Facebook page, a silent auction is being held.
Items you can bid on include a helicopter tour of Grey County, two rounds of golf with a cart at Cobble Beach, one round at Stone Tree with a cart and four people, a 30 minute reading by a Medium, a hockey training session, gift cards, craft beer, car cleaning, a live-edge table and numerous smaller items from local businesses that support the organization's efforts.
Oldrieve and his group have a number of searches and campaigns organized for this summer. Locally, another search is set for August for 22 year old Lisa Maas, who went missing from a party in Woodford in 1988.
The organization has grown in scope and membership in the past year, with retired police and various experts from all over the country offering their help after a W5 episode on Please Bring Me Home aired last fall.
Oldrieve says this summer, they also have plans to search for 13 year old Noreen Greenley in Bowmanville who went missing in September of 1963 from a bus stop.
They are also planning a search for 11 year old Marianne Schuett who went missing from Kilbride Public School in April of 1967.
Another case they're working on involves Meagan Pilon went missing on September 11th, 2013 from Sudbury.
Oldrieve says they also want to put up flyers for Tyler McMichael and Shelley Desrochers, who both went missing from the London area. 20 year old McMichael was reportedly last seen May 24th 2019, at the Commissioners and Wellington area. 42 year old Desrochers disappeared in January 2016.
Oldrieve also hopes to do a flyer campaign for 33 year old Wendy Smith who disappeared in April 1995 from Richmond Hill.
He says they are looking to do another search for Lois Hanna who went missing from the Kincardine area in July 1988 after a dance at the Lucknow Arena.
