Hanover Police say a 'prolific offender' who went on a crime spree in Grey Bruce has been sentenced.
A media release from the police service says the 34 year old Kitchener man has been sentenced to 19 months in jail for a 2019 crime spree in Hanover and the surrounding area.
Police say in total, the man was facing 83 charges from four jurisdictions:

OPP (16)
West Grey (9)
Waterloo Region (5)
Back on Tuesday, August 13th, 2019, a man allegedly stole a Ford Escape, and when spotted by police, sped off in it.
Then, a stolen white Chevy Silverado was spotted by its owner. When police went to stop the truck, it sped off.
Minutes after that, Hanover Police were called about a crash involving the same truck but it sped away from the collision, leaving a trail of things spilling out from the bed including a box full of rifles that had been stolen from a home in Varney.
Not long after, Hanover officers spotted the suspect walking down the street in Hanover. He was arrested.
David Andrew Malott man has been in custody since his arrest by Hanover Police on August 14th of 2019.
Police say he pled guilty to 31 criminal charges that include theft of vehicles, break and enter, arson, credit card frauds, dangerous operation of a vehicle and flight from police (in a pursuit) and breach of probation.
Hanover police say Malott was dubbed a “prolific offender” by Waterloo Regional Police.
