Huron Shores Hospice is cancelling its Handbags for Hospice for 2020.
Organizers say it will instead be held on September 16, 2021.
They say their fundraising committee has been working to offer a virtual event called “Hope for Hospice, the ungala-gala,” which is set to take place Friday, September 25 of this year and will be live-streamed online.
Hospice Co-Chair Cheryl Cottrill says in a media release, they are very aware of the funding need for the community hospice, and the virtual gala will also support local business with access to a special take-out menu (not part of the ticket price), silent and live auctions. There will also be an ingredient list for a 'welcome drink' with a local bartender showing you the tricks to make the perfect drink ahead of the event's 7 p.m. start.
Cottrill says local talent will be featured during the event, and there will be a 50/50 draw.
Tickets are $50 for the main event, and an extra $25 will get you a VIP package.
A full tax receipt is provided for the ticket price.
Cottrill says all proceeds from the ticket sales will go directly to supporting the care and support the hospice provides in the community.
