The Owen Sound Family Health Team has a new board chair.
The Family Health Team's board of directors elected Steve Lowe as chair, effective June 2020. He will serve a three-year term.
Dr. Lizzette Van Zyl, who has served as board chair since 2017, will continue to be the Owen Sound Family Health Team's vice-chair through 2021.
“I am honoured to be elected as the new board chair and look forward to working with my board colleagues to move the OSFHT's mission forward,” says Lowe in a release. “I want to thank the OSFHT's board of directors for its confidence in me to serve as board chair, and I especially want to thank Dr. Van Zyl for her three years of leadership. Together with our board of directors, Physicians, staff, and stakeholders, we are making a positive difference in primary healthcare in Grey Bruce.”
In a statement, Van Zyl says it was a great honour to serve as board chair the past three years.
“I join with my fellow board members in extending our congratulations to Steve on becoming the new board chair. I am very confident that under Steve's leadership, the OSFHT's board will continue to make a positive difference in our community,” Van Zyl says.
