Saugeen Shores police have charged two Owen Sound residents after an early morning complaint about drinking.
Police say on June 20th at 7:40 a.m., officers responded to an anonymous complaint of a man and woman drinking liquor in a vehicle at the Port Elgin Beach.
Officers reportedly arrived to find a baseball bat leaning against the vehicle.
They say a man was in the passenger seat with an open bottle of rum, while a woman was in the driver’s seat and a young child was in the back seat.
Police say they found a pellet handgun they allege was concealed in a manner that to them, was not for a recreational purpose.
They also say they found what they suspect is cocaine in the vehicle.
Saugeen Shores police say the man is currently on a release order with a condition to not possess weapons or firearms.
Both the man and woman were arrested.
A 24 year old Owen Sound man has been charged with carrying a concealed weapon, failing to comply with a release order, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possession of a schedule 1 substance (cocaine)
A 26 year old Owen Sound woman has been charged with, possession of schedule 1 substance (cocaine).
Both were released with a court date.
