Saugeen Shores police laid nearly three times as many speeding charges during a campaign this year than they did last year.
From May 29th to June 12th, police conducted a traffic enforcement initiative called Operation Know Your Limit.
They say they laid 64 charges for speeding.
In the same reporting period in 2019 officers laid 22 speeding charges.
Police say they targeted all areas of the community including problem areas that were reported to the police.
Last August Operation Slow Your Roll saw officers lay 75 speeding charges.
According to police, these campaigns are directed by citizens as a result of community feedback, satisfaction surveys and the police service's business plan.
They say their next traffic safety campaign in July will target the rules of the road.
