The Municipality of Brockton has launched a new scholarship fund to mark the 20th anniversary of the Walkerton water tragedy.
An announcement from the Municipality says the scholarship offers local students bursaries to pursue environmental studies or clean water management.
A statement from the Town says “The Walkerton Clean Water Legacy Scholarship will honour those who suffered during the water crisis, and support the next generation of students embracing environmental stewardship.”
The fund will be administered through Community Foundation Grey Bruce, with initial investments from the Municipality of Brockton and the Walkerton Clean Water Centre.
