Owen Sound Police say a local woman chased down a man who allegedly tried to steal her vehicle.
Police say on Tuesday afternoon (May 19), the woman was unloading things from her vehicle and carrying them into a west side address.
Police say when she returned to her vehicle for a second trip, she found a man sitting in the driver's reportedly trying to steal the vehicle.
She confronted the suspect who reportedly exited the car and ran off, but police say the woman ran after him, chasing him until she was helped by witnesses.
Police arrived and the suspect was arrested.
Owen Sound police say they would like to give a special thanks goes to those involved for their efforts, which police say directly assisted in the successful arrest of the suspect.
They're also reminding citizens to be vigilant and always keep their vehicles
locked and possessions secured, no matter the time of day.
