Saugeen Shores Police have charged two people with drug trafficking related offences.
Town Police say on Thursday morning at 9:52 a.m. officers were called to investigate suspicious persons sleeping in a vehicle at the rail trail parking lot on Concession 6.
A male and a female were inside the vehicle. Police say as one officer approached, the male inside the car was spotted trying to conceal a large quantity of drugs under the passenger seat.
Police say the officer reacted quickly and seized the narcotics.
An investigation revealed the two people inside the vehicle were in possession of a large amount of drugs and cash, police say. Both were arrested.
Fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine and oxycodone with a combined street value over more than 19,000, as well as more than $2,000 in cash was confiscated by police officers.
A 36-year-old Georgian Bluffs man and a 28-year-old Tiverton woman both face a long list of drug possession and trafficking related offences.
Neither of the accused have been named by police.
Both were held for a bail hearing and remanded into custody.
