Amid a challenging time in securing Personal Protective Equipment due to heavy global demand, the president and CEO of Grey Bruce Health Services is confident the local hospital organization has enough supply to keep staff safe.
Gary Sims says GBHS has been fortunate, thanks to local donations they were able to secure reusable stock, including gowns, face shields and respirators — while many companies in the area have also stepped up to provide donations.
Sims also says they were able to find stock of reusable gowns from back during SARS that they're able to use.
“Right now we're feeling we're in a good spot. We have enough for our staff to keep them safe and we beleive we're ready for the near future anyway,” says Sims.
