A Saugeen Shores Police officer had to use his Taser after being confronted by a man wielding a knife.
Police say, just before 5 Friday evening (3rd) they received a call concerning unknown trouble.
Police say the officer arrived to find a man brandishing a knife. They say the man advanced on the officer, who reportedly drew his gun in an attempt to arrest the man.
According to police, that's when a second officer arrived on scene and positioned their cruiser between the man and the first officer to create a barrier.
The first officer then reportedly Tasered the man, which caused him to drop the knife.
Police say they were able to safely arrest the man. They say he was not injured, but was transported to the hospital to be seen by a physician.
The 33 year old man of no fixed address has been charged with:
-Assault with a weapon
-Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
-Fail to comply with a probation order
