A fire ban is now in place for all of Bruce County.
The fire chiefs of Bruce County say in a statement the ban prohibits all outdoor burning including agricultural and recreational fires.
“The fire chiefs felt this was a preventative measure to limit firefighters' potential of being exposed to the COVID-19 virus,” the statement explains. “This will also allow Bruce County Fire Departments to focus their efforts on responding to incidents that are more severe in nature or life threatening.”
The ban came into effect as of 4 p.m. Friday and will remain in place until further notice.
