Google has released charts showing the drop in people spending time outside their homes.
Through its tracking capabilities, Google has mapped out and categorized whether people are above or below the usual baseline amount of venturing out into various places.
You can look at results by country, or even by province.
According to the Google stats, Canadians are showing a huge drop in going out since the first week of March,
Down 59 per cent in retail and recreation visits, (restaurants, malls, parks, museums, libraries)
Down 44 per cent in workplaces
Down 35 per cent in grocery and pharmacy
Down 16 per cent in parks, with the biggest drop below the baseline in the last week
Down 66 per cent in transit stations
Time spent in the Residential category is up 14 per cent above the average baseline
In Ontario:
There has been a 59 per cent drop in visits to retail and recreation spots
Grocery and pharmacy is down 33 per cent
Park visits are down 14 per cent
Transit is down 66 per cent
Workplace visits are down 46 per cent
Residential is up 14 per cent
