The Town of The Blue Mountains is helping its local grocers handle the demand for grocery delivery while people isolate during COVID-19.
It's offered its help for the time being to the Thornbury Foodland grocery store and to Goldsmiths Orchard Market.
In a media release, Chief Administrative Officer, Shawn Everitt, explains “The Town's first and most important priority is the operation of critical and essential municipal services,” but he notes, there are a few staff members who have the time and that's an opportunity to help out.
Meanwhile, in a statement, Deputy Mayor Rob Potter says “The entire world is challenged with uncertain times right now, and it’s important to remember that we are all in this together and that we will get through this by working together.”
The Town says it will be offering assistance to other essential community-focused businesses.
