South Bruce Peninsula council has approved a bylaw to hire a professional security firm to enforce the rules on Sauble Beach.
Trying to breach bylaw rules on Sauble Beach-proper, will have you dealing with a professional security firm this summer.
Council has hired James Special Services of Owen Sound to patrol the beach looking for beach infractions such as dogs on the beach; barbeques and four sided tents.
Mayor Janice Jackson says “It's the first time we've ever hired an outside company to patrol Sauble Beach. I know the community out there gets frustrated when they see our bylaws being breached.”
Jackson says the student bylaw enforcement officers will still continue to monitor the parking bylaws.
She doesn't believe the new enforcement will be a negative issue with tourists, since the only ones affected will be those not following the rules and they aren't wanted at the beach anyway.
