Saugeen Shores Council has approved the future approval process involving Cedar Crescent Village on Port Elgin's Main Beach.
Mayor Charbonneau, in expressing his confidence in administration staff and the procedure, says council is not built for making every day to day decision on the minor issues of the agreement.
He says council is a body built to make a few decisions every now and again.
Charbonneau says despite what some may have heard or read from some media, the concept is “very routine for council to approve agreement and then to allow our administration to administer those agreements.”
“It's absolutely the right way to administer a lease. It's the way to get it done well, which is what the community wants.”
Council agreed and voted to accept the report from the CAO that was presented February 24th regarding the Waterfront Revitalization Project and future town approvals.
Councillor Matt Carr voted against the concept and Councillor Jami Smith declared a pecuniary interest and left the chambers.
