A young Northern Bruce Peninsula man faces over half a dozen charges after being pulled over on Highway 6 north of Hepworth.
Grey Bruce OPP say on February 20th, just before 9:30 at night, an officer reportedly saw a blue pickup doing more than 35 kilometres an hour over the posted speed limit of 80.
According to OPP, the 22 year old driver was driving without a licence and committing several other provincial offences including not having a permit, not applying for one, not having insurance, driving an unsafe vehicle, using an invalid licence plate and driving with a blood alcohol content of more than zero.
The charges are as follows:
Speeding, section 128 Highway Traffic Act (HTA)
Drive motor vehicle with no licence, section 32(1) HTA
Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle, section 7(5)(a) HTA
Fail to apply for permit on becoming owner, section 11(2) HTA
Operate unsafe vehicle, section 84(1) HTA
Use plate not authorized for vehicle, section 12(1)(d) HTA
Novice driver with Blood Alcohol Concentration above zero, section 44.1(3) HTA
Owner operate motor vehicle on a Highway with no insurance, section 2(1)(a) Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act
