A memorial to celebrate the life of West Grey Police officer Constable Cory Trainor will be held in Durham this week.
Trainor, who was 28 years old, died from a self-inflicted injury on February 18th.
He was found in his cruiser on Sideroad 6 in Southgate Township.
There has been widespread mourning in the community in the wake of Trainor's death. In West Grey, flags have been flying at half-mast.
The West Grey Police Service has said the tragic loss is being felt throughout its close-knit community.
The celebration of life will be held at the Durham Community Centre at 1p.m. on Wednesday (Feb 26) and also at the Collins Clarke Funeral Home in Pointe-Claire, Quebec on Saturday, (Feb 29) with visitation from 10:00 to 12:00, chapel service from 12:00 to 1:00, followed by a reception.
In lieu of flowers, his family says donations to the Special Olympics Ontario or the SPCA in his memory are welcome.
