Brockton is inviting residents to share their voice and help shape their community through a new website Build Your Brockton. www.buildyourbrockton.ca
The purpose of the website is to promote conversations between Brockton and residents and to learn more about the priorities in the community.
Community engagement not only strengthens the relationship with the Municipality, but it is believed it will also ensure better, more educated decisions are being made wit the community needs at the forefront of every decision.
Mayor Chris Peabody says this community engagement tool will provide a platform for residents to discuss their questions or concerns about Municipal projects and initiatives.
The site is moderated 25/78 by a third part to ensure the conversations remain appropriate, on topic and free from any bullying or harassment.
By registering, residents can choose a username that is as anonymous as they wish.
Peabody encourages residents to visit www.buildyourbrockton.ca and register to have their online voice heard on municipal matters.
He says this community input will be particularly helpful during matters such as budget deliberations where public input can help Council better identify the priorities of citizens.
Build Your Brockton currently hosts four projects that residents are able to engage with: Budget Consultation 2020, Walkerton 2020 Commemoration, Share Your Photos, and What Do You Like Best About Brockton?
There are a number of options to gather feedback on the site including surveys, stories, Q&A and places (a mapping tool allowing residents to pin locations.)
Project will be continuously added to the site to keep the community updated on current projects and events.
By utilizing the Build Your Brockton website, Peabody says residents can add comments, ask questions, share their stories as well as provide important feedback.
