Brockton has rezoned a large parcel of land to make way for a new development project.
This year is already shaping into a year of bustling development activity in Brockton.
Mayor Chris Peabody says “We are just starting the crest of boom here in Walkerton in development”.
There are currently four town house development projects as well as potentially four subdivisions on the go in Walkerton this year.
The latest project involves an 18-unit townhouse development project for seniors that will be located on Crawford Street in Walkerton behind Brucelea Haven.
Council recently rezoned the land from Residential: Low Density Single (R1) to Residential Low Density Multiple (R2) to allow the project to proceed.
Housing, particularly senior housing is in high demand in Walkerton, as such Peabody welcomes the new development project.
At the recommendation of staff, the 18-unit senior townhouse development will include fencing to serve as a noise buffer and provide privacy for neighbouring residents.
